Singing for health

KATHMANDU:

While soft, spiritual singing can work wonders on our stressed spirit, how about serving others in need too by it? Here is a wonderful opportunity.

Rotary Club of Kathmandu and Patan in association with Music Nepal and Nuns Welfare Foundation of Nepal is organising “mantra-star” Ani Choying Dolma’s eighth yearly fund raising concert entitled ‘Time for our souls’ on December 15 at the Nepal Academy Hall, Kamaladi. The proceeds from the concert will go to the National Kidney Center (NKC),

Balaju.

“We don’t know when we will encounter any kidney problem, as we all are vulnerable to it. So by helping strengthen the center, we are helping ourselves in the future,” remarked Ani Dolma. Her mother herself succumbed to kidney failure. The concert will also see the launch of Ani Dolma’s new album ‘Time’.

NKC, established in 1997, provides dialysis services through its 30 functional dialysis machines. The proceeds will assist the center’s efforts to acquire its own infrastructure to provide better and less costly services to its patients. The center has already reduced its dialysis cost from its initial Rs 3500 to Rs 2000.

The tickets, priced at Rs 700, Rs 1000 and Rs 2000 are available at Nanglo, Bakery Café outlets and Suwal Video, Lazimpat, and will also be available at the concert venue.
