Scientists reckon they’ve come up with a sure-fire way to predict earthquakes — by watching snakes! Experts at a quake centre in China have been watching snake farms and they believe the creatures can sense a quake up to five days before it happens. The snakes start behaving oddly, often moving strangely and smashing into walls as if they’re trying to escape. The scientists who are doing these experiments work at earthquake bureau in Nanning, and have been monitoring the snake farms via internet video links for months. Lots of earthquakes happen in China, which is why research is done there.
