Spanish film fest ends today

KATHMANDU: The Spanish film festival that is going on at the Russan Culture Centre comes to an end on November 19 with the screening of two films.

Piedras (Stones) directed by Ramon Salazar will be screned at 12:00 noon. Piedras tells a story of five women and the relationship which develops between them through their feet and shoes. It’s a story of five Cinderellas without princes, all looking for a second (or even a third) chance.

Achero Manas’ Nov-iembre (November) will be screened at 5:00 pm and deals with Alfredo’s concept of theatre.

His concept of what theatre should be begins beyond hte stage, out in hte streets, face to face with the public, outdoors, in any town square, in a park or in the city’s most commercial street. There are no limits, no censorship; only ideas which are always valid as long as the public ceases to be the public and becomes part of hte show swept by surprise, fear, tears or laughter. Theatre as life, life as a theatre... there is no longer any difference. Entry to the screenings is free on a first come, first served basis.
