Spiritually yours

KATHMANDU: The religious and spiritual tones are very high. Figures and tales drawn Buddhist lore and mythology find space in this exhibition. Red and blue and green and gold strike your senses as you move from one painting to another. Intricate and minute, the tiny detailings on the works leave one spellbound.

This is Ujay Bajracharya’s ‘Patience’, an exhibition that is on at Susan’s Collection, Kathmandu Guest House, Thamel.

Thirty-four pieces of work done over a seven-year period are displayed here.

“I’ve named my exhibition ‘Patience’ because it reflects the patience that I needed to have to complete my painting and also the patience that I needed to get a space to exhibit my work,” says Bajracharya.

Explaining Paubha art, Bajracharya says, “This line of painting must have three elements — religious, spiritual and iconographic.”

That explains the heavy spiritual and religious fabric of the exhibition.

Done in poster colours, ground stone and gold, ‘Patience’ will appeal to you because of its minute works. (On till December 18)
