Creative Statements is organising ‘Celebrating Womanhood 2005’ at Hotel Shangri-La on March 31 to celebrate vision, power and inner beauty of women. Celebrating Womanhood was initiated and established in 2002 by Creative Statements to felicitate woman’s wisdom, power and outstanding accomplishments in different fields. Nine different awards, which are named after different goddesses — Annapurna, Bhagwati, Bhawani, Durga, Karuna, Laksmi, Mahamaya, Saraswati and Shakti — are awarded to nine different women every year.

Nationwide search was conducted for the selection of these women of power, creativity and integrity and have been selected from as far as Lukla, Biratnagar and Nepalgunj who will also be gracing the event. As the event steps into the fourth year in a row, a special musical evening has also been planned to be staged, which will be a highlight of the event, say the

organisers, as it has been conceived according to the theme of the event that focusses on power, wisdom, inner beauty and integrity of women. Out of nine awards, four awards have been branded by different organisations — Annapurna by Eco Himal, Saraswati by Jyoti Groups, Durga by Nepal Tourism Board and Laxmi by Laxmi Bank Limited.
