SUNSILK NEPAL FASHION WEEK: Interesting presentation, international designs

Kathmandu:

The craze and enthusiasm for the Sunsilk Nepal Fashion Week is increasing. The collections displayed on the second and the third day of the event were highly appreciated and many traders and export houses could be spotted at Hotel Yak and Yeti.

On September 10, a total of seven groups of designers showcased their designs. “All the outfits displayed by the designers were very different from other designers and flaunted a lot of creativity,’expressed Shailaja Adhikary, managing director, IEC.

On September 11, designs were mainly by boutiques from all around the city. The designs ranged from ethnic, traditional wear, western designs to designs towards the more creative side. Though most of the clothes catered to the ready-to-wear line, some designers experimented and came out with clothes that would hardly ever be seen on the streets of Kathmandu but were worth praise for the imagination that went into designing them. Another highlight of the evening was Bhuvan KC, the evergreen actor, walking the ramp in an outfit made by Sunimu Boutique.

All in all the Sunsilk Nepal Fashion Week is certainly working towards taking Nepali fashion to an international audience. The Grand Finale on September 13 is certainly an event all should look forward to .
