Taking things as they come

Veteran actor Shakti Kapoor has played the bad guy as well as comic character with success. In an exclusive interview with Anjila Shrestha of TGIF, Crime Master Gogo, in his own style candidly talked about his visit to Nepal and more:

The first place you wanted to go as soon as you landed in Kathmandu…

Soaltee Crowne Plaza was my first concern when I landed in Kathmandu. I had stayed at the hotel with superstar Amitabh Bachaan for the movie ‘Mahaan’ many years ago. The immense love from the staff and service was outstanding. I have an emotional attachment with the hotel.

The crime you would commit knowing you could get away with it...

If I cheat on my wife I don’t want to get caught because she is such a lovely lady that I would never wish to cheat.

If you were to do a film shoot in Nepal which location would you choose?

Nepal is blessed by God so it’s hard to pick one location. I believe wherever you put your camera you get the best shot.

Any Nepali beauty that has caught your attention…

Every fair girl I see catches my attention. Manisha Koirala is the best example as she’s beautiful inside out.

The philosophy that underpins your life…

My philosophy in life is to follow Lord Buddha— “Believe in yourself and take things as they come.”

Event that altered the course of your life and character...

The day I met my wife Shivangi, my life totally changed. I am the luckiest person to have her in my life and a proud father of two children—Siddhanth Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.

A misapprehension about yourself you wish you could erase...

The only regret in my life was I could not give time to my parents as I got really caught up with work. This regret always haunts me.

A film you can watch over and over again...

If given a chance I would love to relive the character Crime Master Gogo from ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ again.

Who would you love to get naughty with on screen?

I have the prettiest wife in the entire world. So, nobody matches her personality and there’s no chance for being naughty.

The pet hate that raises hackles...

Fake rumours

Funniest rumour you have heard about yourself…

I heard the news about my death thrice.

The role you would love to live for a day...

I would love to be the Prime Minister of India so that I could make the India-Nepal relationship stronger as Nepal is very close to my heart.

The way you want to be remembered...

I want to be remembered as a good husband, father and very good son.

The unfulfilled ambition that continues to haunt you...

I wanted to be the number one superstar and beat all the actors of Bollywood. However, I have no regrets and that’s how I live my life — with a smile on my lips.

I heard the news about my death thrice
