Taste of Flamenco jazz

KATHMANDU:

Here’s some piece of good news for all Jazz music lovers — legendry Spanish Flamenco jazz musician Jorge Pardo and his band Vientos Flamencos — Jorge (saxophone, flute), Juan Die-go (flamenco guitar) and El Chispa (flamenco percussion) — will perform at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom on May 11.

A Hyatt press release of May 7 states that the musical cocktail event is being organised to celebrate ‘May as the month of Europe’ by the European Commission to Nepal and Hyatt Regency.

On the occasion, Hyatt will be opening their jazz club — HyJazz, which will offer an ideal venue for Jazz musical happenings in the Valley. HyJazz Club conveniently located on the first level of the hotel has been decorated with Jazz memories from the past. The room is self equipped with the state of the art sound system for the clarity and a functional bar to keep the spirits high.

Part of proceeds from the concert will go provide musical scholarships for talented underprivileged children at the Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory.

The event is being managed by Infinity International and Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory and sponsored by European Commission to Nepal, Hyatt Regency, Nepal Investment
