THE WORLD THIS WEEK

Artist creates tiny sculptures:

The sculpture of England rugby star Jonny Wikinson has much more to it than meets the eye, it’s really, really small. The ball the sculpture of Jonny is kicking is so tiny it’s been suspended in the eye of a needle. Jonny is standing on top of a pin.

A man called Willard Wigan has been making the tiny pieces of art. He has to use a microscope to see what he is doing. He uses extremely small tools to create his sculptures. One of the tools he uses is the hair from a fly. Willard also uses the buzzing bugs as a source of paint brushes. Even the cameraman had to use the microscope to get the shots of the tiny sculptures. — Agencies
