THE WORLD THIS WEEK: Pay with your fingerprint

Leaving your cash at home might not be a problem in future, as there are plans to let people use fingerprints instead. Three shops are testing a new type of technology from the US called Pay by Touch, which uses fingerprints instead of cashcards to let you pay for things. The system links fingerprints to bank accounts and when a print is scanned the shop gets the money from the bank. It’s already being used in some parts o of the US, where more than 2.5 million people have signed up to take part.
