THE WORLD THIS WEEK: Scientist creates robot double

A A Japanese scientist has made a robot that looks and moves exactly like him. The Geminoid was created by Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro using a model of his body and hair actually from his head.

When you poke its face, it even frowns like a real human, as it has 50 sensors implanted beneath its skin. The robot also looks like it can breathe because compressed air is pump-ed around its body! The android is controlled with a remote control and also through sensors you attach to your body. Androids are popular in Japan with companies selling robots that copy human actions.
