SYDNEY: Actors James Earl Jones and Tom Hanks are the most trusted celebrities, says a poll released by Forbes.

To come up with the list, Forbes.com conducted a survey in which they asked Americans to rate celebrities highest on trustworthiness, awareness and appeal, reports The Sydney Morning Herald.

Back to the Future star Michael J Fox came in third on the list. Fox revealed over a decade ago that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and has since become a driving force in researching the affliction.

The 10 most trusted celebrities according to Forbes are James Earl Jones, Tom Hanks, Michael J Fox, Mike Rowe, Morgan Freeman, Sally Field, Ron Howard, Will Smith, Bill Cosby and Denzel Washington.
