U2 number is Blair’s choice

LONDON:

British Prime Minister Tony Blair has chosen U2’s 1987 hit Where the streets have no name as his favourite song of all time. According to contactmusic.com, Blair called up the British radio station to choose the song. The lyrics deal with disillusionment and violence with lines like, “I want to run. I want to hide. I want to tear down the walls that hold me inside.” Blair’s spokesperson says his choice of the song does not mean that he is depressed, adding, “I think he just liked the song.”
