Woman’s different moods

KATHMANDU: The second solo exhibition of Ganga Subedi titled Shristhi ra jagat was inaugurated by Ambassador of Bangladesh Imtiaz Ahmed on June 23 at the Nepal Art Council, Barbermahal. On the same occasion books by Subedi were also released.

Artist Subedi, who is from Biratnagar, said that after much effort she has come to understand the motive behind creations and the duty of the world. She also recited two poems from her book.

Most of her paintings showcase emotions and life of a woman. Be it through the facial expression or the posture, she had depicted different pains that a woman goes through and also the expectations and happiness a woman experiences in life. Dominated by the shades of yellow, brown and green her creations are rather vibrant and she has mostly used colours that outline the figures in them.

Various personalities present at the event also talked about the relation between the artists from Kathmandu and rest of Nepal. Jointly organised by Nepal Art Council and Lalitkala Sangam Purbanchal, the exhibition is on till July 2.
