Women power
KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Handicraft Association, Women’s Entrepreneurs and Kathmandu Municipality jointly organised the Women’s Handicraft Exhibition on January 13 at the Hanuman Dhoka Durbar Square.
The programme was organised with an objective to encourage women entrepreneurship as well as promote their products at the national and international market.
Around 50 stalls had been put up at this daylong exhibition. The stalls showcased some of the best woollen scarves, cardigans and other woollen products. Besides these, there were other products, which not only looked good but were selling for pretty reasonable prices. The exhibition showcased paper work, statues, soft toys, candles and many other products.
Some of the stalls had turmeric, homemade pickles, chips and the like. People thronged each and every stall. Though they did not buy at each stall, they made a sincere effort to appreciate all the displayed goods.
For those who wanted to shop, stop and eat, there were a few stalls, which sold some delicious local food stuff as well.
