Wooing the crowd
Kathmandu:
The crowd was screaming for the rockers to come on stage and perform their much loved songs. But they had to wait for a while as load shedding was stopping The Axe Band to rock the show. The much awaited rock show of the year, the live solo concert by the popular rock band with folk flavour was held at the Birendra International Convention Centre (BICC) hall on March 22. The hall was filled with youngsters who had come to watch the band perform after a hiatus.
As soon as the band made their appearance the crowd was screaming for their favourite songs. With the first rolling of the drums the audience went crazy screaming on top of their voices and the show started with the song Ma audai chu. The popularity of the three-member band was obvious looking at the enthusiasm and zeal of the crowd. Looking at their eagerness to come forward and head bang to most of the songs the bands choice to do an indoor concert seemed a bit mismatched. A little bit of sun and fresh air would have been even better for the crowd to groove along with the songs.
Performing all of their popular numbers from their very first song Paloo danda ma basne kanchi to their recent song Euta chitthi the band was able to win the hearts of all. But it was songs like Chiya bari ma and romantic Lukna deu malai that brought them to the limelight which had all singing along and screaming once more.
