Zap those blackheads
KATHMANDU: More than pimples, it is the blackheads that girls of all ages have a tough time avoiding. Blackheads appear in all skin types and nose, chin, cheeks and forehead are the most affected areas. The clogging of pores by sebum and dead skin cells causes blackheads.
All you need is a regular skin care in order to have a blackheads-free skin. There are simple homemade remedies, which remove blackheads and also prevent it from re appearing.
Natural remedies
• Add the juice of one lime into five to six cups of water and boil. Take a steam with this water. Rub the blackheads firmly with a face towel after 10 minutes of steaming. Wash face with chilled water to close the pores.
• Rub a pinch of table salt mixed with a pinch of the soft soggy portion of a glycerin soap. Rub well into the blackheads. Repeat for a week.
• Take one tablespoon of fresh coriander leaf
juice with half-a-tablespoon of turmeric powder. Apply this at bed time and wash in the morning. Repeat for a week.
• Take one-tablespoon lime juice mixed with one tablespoon of finely powdered cinnamon. Apply at bedtime and wash in the morning.
• Apply fenugreek powder at night and keep it for 15 minutes before washing. Repeat it for few weeks.
• Add one tablespoon lemon juice to one tablespoon of groundnut oil. Apply this on face and nose.
• To avoid whiteheads add a little fresh lemon juice to boiled and cooled milk and apply this on face everyday as a cleanser.
• Add lemon juice to the powder of pomegranate skin to make a paste. Apply this on face.
• In order to avoid blemishes, boils, pimples, blackheads and whiteheads mash potato and dab into the face.
• Add water to the powder of radish seeds and apply on face
• Add rose water in oatmeal and make a paste. Rub this on face and nose as scrub. — Agencies
