The weather forecast for today suggests cloudy conditions prevailing throughout the country, with a possibility of light rain in certain hilly regions.
The Meteorological Forecast Division (MFD) indicates that Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with hilly areas, will experience predominantly cloudy weather, while other regions will be partly cloudy to mainly fair.
Additionally, light rain is expected in a few locations within these provinces and some hilly areas. The MFD also forecasts light to moderate snowfall in high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in other parts of the country.
Towards the evening, Karnali, Sudurpaschim provinces, and hilly areas will continue to see partly to generally cloudy conditions, while the rest of the country remains fair. Tonight, there's a chance of light rain in select hilly areas and snowfall in high hilly and mountainous regions.
Currently, Nepal is under the influence of western winds, with temperatures recorded at 5.3°C in the Kathmandu Valley at 8:45 am today.
The Tarai region is experiencing foggy conditions, expected to clear gradually by afternoon.
The MFD advises caution due to the potential impacts of fog, rain, and cold on daily life, health, and transportation.
