The Meteorological Forecast Division (MFD) has forecasted cloudy weather conditions prevailing across the country today.

According to the MFD's forecast, the hilly areas and provinces of Koshi, Madesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki are likely to experience partly to generally cloudy weather patterns, with the possibility of light rain or thunder and lightning in a few places within these areas. Meanwhile, the rest of the country is expected to remain partly cloudy.

As the day transitions into night, the weather pattern is anticipated to remain unchanged in those provinces, while the rest of the parts of the country experiencing fair conditions tonight.

Additionally, the MFD has indicated the possibility of light snowfall occurring at one or two places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of the country today. Furthermore, tonight, there is a chance of snowfall in one or two places within the high hilly and mountainous regions of the Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Pokhara experienced the highest recorded rainfall in the past 24 hours, receiving a significant 12 mm of rainfall. Conversely, Kathmandu experienced comparatively lighter rainfall, with just 1.5 mm of rain during the same period.

Meanwhile, Dhangadhi, Bhairahawa, and Taplejung witnessed only traces of rainfall in the past 24 hours.

The country is currently under the influence of a Western low-pressure system, which has induced a low-pressure system in northeastern Assam and adjoining areas of India.
