KATHMANDU, JUNE 11

The weather across the country is likely to remain partly cloudy to mainly fair except for partly to generally cloudy conditions in Koshi Province and the hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces on Tuesday.

According to the Meteorological Forecast Division (MFD), there is also the possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder, lightning, and gusty winds in a few places in Koshi and the hilly regions of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, and at one or two places in the rest of the country.

The MFD recorded a rainfall of 8.5mm in Pokhara and 6mm in Taplejung in the last 24 hours.

As day turns to night, the weather pattern is likely to remain the same. The country is under the influence of monsoon systems in the eastern parts, while the rest of the country is influenced by local winds, western wind, and partly by a low-pressure system originating around the Bihar state of India.

Meanwhile, the MFD has urged caution against the hot day and heat wave in the mid and western parts of the Terai region as it recorded a maximum temperature of 40°C on this morning.

The MFD recorded a maximum temperature of 44°C in Dhangadhi on Monday, 44.6°C in Nepalgunj, 40.9°C in Birendranagar, and 40.7°C in Dipayal on Monday afternoon.
