KATHMANDU, JANUARY 29
Former British Gurkha Subash Rai is set to receive the prestigious Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for his outstanding contributions. Rai, hailing from Dharan, served diligently in the British Army for an extended period before transitioning to active involvement in social and political spheres.
Scheduled to be bestowed with the title by King Charles III in July, this honor marks a significant recognition, being the third highest bestowed by the British monarch. Despite retiring from the military and returning to Nepal, Rai has remained deeply engaged in social endeavors, consistently extending his support to both the British government and the British Army.
Expressing his gratitude for the impending recognition, Rai expresses his deep honor at the acknowledgment. Rai, presently an active figure within the Nepali Congress, holds an elected position in its Mahasamiti.
