KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 9

Cloudy weather is expected to prevail across the hilly and Himalayan regions of the country, with a chance of light rain or snowfall at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali provinces over the next 24 hours, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).

Similalry, light fog or mist is likely to persist in parts of the Terai, especially until noon, which may reduce visibility. Other regions are expected to experience mainly fair to partly cloudy conditions, MFD stated.

Tonight, fog is expected to persist in a few Terai locations, with partly cloudy conditions elsewhere and generally cloudy skies over the hilly and Himalayan belts of Koshi, Gandaki and Karnali.

In the Kathmandu Valley, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy. The maximum temperature during the day is forecast to range between 19 and 21 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature at night is likely to hover between 5 and 7 degrees Celsius.

The DHM has issued an advisory warning that fog may affect some Terai areas until noon, potentially impacting visibility. At present, foggy conditions are prevailing in many parts of the Terai as well as in some high hilly and mountainous areas.

Meteorologists said the current weather pattern is influenced by a westerly wind system affecting Nepal.
