KATHMANDU, AUGUST 22

CPN-UML Chairperson and former prime minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the civil society and journalists of Karnali Province to focus on carrying out a feasibility study on the availability of petroleum in Dailekh district.

During his meeting with members of civil society and journalists of the province at his private residence in Balkot today, Oli said extraction of petroleum products would help the country to prosper. "During my term as PM, the process of conducting a feasibility study on the availability of petroleum in areas, including Navisthan, Shirsthan, Paduka, Dhuleshwor and Kotila had taken place after reaching a government-to-government agreement with China," he said.

"The chair of the main opposition party in the Parliament stressed the need to focus on the promotion of the Rara Lake in Mugu, construction of a way to Mansarobar through Humla and collection and processing of valuable medicinal herbs, including yarshagumba (Cordiceps sinensis) in Mugu and Humla districts," said Dailekh-based journalist, Bishnu Sharma, who joined the meeting.

"These things will help change the identity of the province," he quoted the former prime minister as saying.
