KATHMANDU, JUNE 12
Much of the country will experience partly to generally cloudy skies today, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning likely in several provinces, according to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).
Scattered showers are expected in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, particularly in the hilly regions. There is also a chance of heavy rainfall at one or two places in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.
As night falls, similar weather conditions are forecast to persist in these provinces, with mainly fair to partly cloudy skies elsewhere. Intermittent rain and thundershowers may continue in the aforementioned regions, while the possibility of heavy rainfall remains in isolated areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
In the Kathmandu Valley, skies will be partly cloudy this afternoon, with a 40% chance of brief showers or thundershowers. Tonight, the valley is expected to remain partly cloudy with a continued 40% chance of rainfall.
The current weather is being shaped by local and westerly winds in western and central Nepal, while monsoon winds are actively influencing most areas of Koshi Province, the MFD said.
