KATHMANDU, JUNE 13

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast partly to generally cloudy skies across the country today, with light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning likely in several regions.

Light to moderate rain is expected in parts of Koshi and Bagmati provinces, and in some hilly areas of the country. One or two locations in Koshi Province may witness heavy rainfall. Light rain or snowfall is also likely in high hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in isolated high-altitude regions elsewhere.

The weather will remain partly to generally cloudy nationwide. Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely in many areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in some places of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at a few places in Koshi Province and at one or two locations in Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Light snowfall or rain is also possible in high hilly and mountainous regions.

Skies in the Kathmandu valley will remain partly to generally cloudy with brief rain or thundershowers likely in the afternoon and continuing into the night. There is a 40% chance of rainfall in the valley both in the afternoon and at night.

Monsoon winds are currently affecting parts of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and eastern Lumbini provinces. Westerly and local winds are influencing the weather in western Nepal.
