KATHMANDU, APRIL 10

The government has directed all health institutions to make alternative arrangements to ensure uninterrupted and effective service delivery following the implementation of a two-day weekend.

The Ministry of Health and Population has instructed hospitals to manage OPD services on Sundays based on workload and available human resources.

Hospitals have been asked to provide two days of leave weekly-one being Saturday and the other on a different day. If Sunday leave is not feasible, institutions must arrange replacement leave.

The directive has also been extended to provincial hospitals and the health ministries of all seven provinces for implementation.
