KATHMANDU: Police on Tuesday reported that a person was arrested for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in Bauddha of KMC-6 on Monday.

The arrested has been identified as Santosh Gurung (45) of Olangchunggola in Phaktanglung Rural Municipality of Taplejung district currently living in a rented space in Baudha.

According to police, Gurung allegedly gave two boiled eggs to the minor and coerced her into his room where he forced himself onto her.

Both victim and alleged rapist were taken to a hospital for health check up.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.

According to Chapter 14 of Muluki Ain Regarding Rape, one who commits rape should be imprisoned for up to ten years if the victim is under fourteen years of age.
