KATHMANDU: A person died after the motorcycle he was riding on met with an accident in Shankhamul of KMC-10 on Tuesday night, said police.

The deceased has been identified as Mohan Raymajhi (31) of Jhapa district currently residing in Koteshwor.

According to police, the incident occurred when the motorcycle (Ba 72 Pa 1125) lost its control and fell on the road at 12:30 am last night, injuring the pillion rider Raymajhi.

The critically injured Raymajhi was rushed to the Minbhawan-based Civil Service Hospital, where he breathed his last at 1:00 am last night during the course of treatment, informed police.

Meanwhile, the Baneshwar-based Metropolitan Police Circle has impounded the motorcycle and detained its driver for further investigation.
