KATHMANDU: One person was killed and other sustained serious injuries after a bike they were riding on rammed into the road side rails at Balaju Chok in KMC-15 yesterday.

The deceased is yet to be ascertained. Among the injured, one died in hospital during the course of treatment at the Maharajgunj-based Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.

Police said that the bike (Ba 73 Pa 4160) lost control and rammed into the road side rails leading to a fatal accident in the area.

The other seriously injured pillion-rider is undergoing treatment at the same health facility. He is said to be in critical condition, whose identity is also yet to be ascertained, according to police.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the motorcycle for further investigation.
