10 new KOICA volunteers arrive in Nepal
KATHMANDU: The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) said its 10 more volunteers arrived in Nepal to work here for two years.
Likewise, an advisor has also been dispatched for the country for the next year.
According to a KOICA statement, Adviser Lee Chan Koo will be work at the Korea Nepal Institute of Technology, Butwal in the field of human resource.
Among the 10 new volunteers, six are assigned to work at the Trishuli Hospital, Nuwakot; Nepal Red Cross Society, Chitwan; School of Health Science, Chitwan and Dhaulagiri Zonal Hospital, Baglung respectively in the health sector; two at Bishwo Bhasa Campus, Kathmandu and Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel respectively in the education sector. Furthermore, the remaining two would work at Women and Child Development Office, Dhading in the field of social welfare and District Education Office, Baglung in the field of Information and Technology.
The volunteers will learn about Nepali society, culture, tradition as well as language during their six to eight weeks of adaptation programme, which will help them work in their concerned community and organisation, reads statement.
Since 1990, KOICA Volunteers are deployed in various government organisations within and outside the Kathmandu Valley according to the demand and request of the government in different sectors like education, health, agriculture and IT.
