The Nepal Calendar Determination Committee has announced the auspicious time for the tika during this year's Dashain festival.
According to the Committee, the most auspicious hour for applying Dashain tika is 11:36 AM on Saturday.
Tika and Jamara are considered the offerings of the Goddess, and as offerings, they can be applied at any time," said Prof. Dr. Ram Chandra Gautam, former chairman of the Nepal Calendar Determination Committee. "After the Goddess's immersion at 8:33 AM today, tika and jamara can be received from elders for blessings at any convenient time."
He added, "If it suits you, follow the auspicious time of 11:36 AM, but if not, you can apply it whenever it is convenient for you."
Dashain is widely celebrated by Hindus both in Nepal and abroad.
