13 schools to be awarded
Kathmandu, February 19:
The Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) is awarding 13 schools for their outstanding performance in this academic year on February 24 to mark the 31st National Education Day.
Mangoladaya school, Thankot, will receive Birendra Sikshya Rastriya Shield along with a purse of Rs 1 lakh among the community schools under the regional category while in the institutional category, Gyanodaya Bal Batika, Sanepa, will receive the Shield and cash prize.
Five other community schools — Panchawati, Udayapur, Gyanodya Bal Batika, Bafal, Saraswati, Gorkha, Banglamukhi, Bardia and Lama Tola, Bajghang — will receive a ca-sh prize of Rs 50,000 each.
Other “institutional schools” which will receive the award carrying a purse of Rs 50,000 are Little Fire, Jhapa, Dipendra Police, Sanga, Gandaki Boarding, Kaski, Tulasi Awasiya, Dang and Stepping Stone English School, Kailali.
