KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 13

Dr. Om Foundation has distributed blankets to 350 underprivileged families in Balwa Municipality, Mahottari.

This initiative was intended to benefit struggling communities, including Mushar, Dusad, Chamar, Muslims, and others, to cope with the harsh winter cold.

The blankets were funded through the sales of Jeevanta Sambandha, a book by Dr. Om Murti Anil, the foundation's founder. Inspired by his relationship with his father, the book has supported the foundation's charitable efforts. Dr. Om Murti thanked the readers, calling them 'the real contributors ' behind the distribution, while the foundation serves as the medium. He also confirmed plans for future distributions.

The foundation has been involved in projects focused on health, education, and social change. With funds from the book sales, the foundation has organized several helpful programs.

Dr. Om Foundation has conducted health camps in rural areas, offering essential services such as ECHO, ECG, and free medicines to more than 1500 underserved populations so far. The foundation had organized school level national wide poetry, quiz, and art competitions in 2023 February against smoking and the campaign "smokers are not selfish" campaign helped more than 1700 to quit smoking.

In the future, the foundation is getting ready to start a scholarship program to help students from low-income families. This program is in its final stages as per a statement issued by the foundation.
