163 new Covid-19 infections recorded in Kathmandu Valley on Monday

KATHMANDU: The three districts of Kathmandu valley reported as many as 163 new cases of the coronavirus infection on Monday.

This accounts for more than 50% of the total new cases observed today.

Of the total 322 new cases in the country, Kathmandu district reported 141 infections while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur registered 15 and seven infections respectively.

Currently, there are 2,205 active infections in Kathmandu, 202 in Lalitpur, and 52 in Bhaktapur. The total number of active cases throughout Nepal, as of today, is 3,861.

So far, 489 fatalities from Covid-19 have been reported in Kathmandu, 113 in Bhaktapur, and 157 in Lalitpur. The nationwide death-toll has advanced to 1,965 with six Covid-related fatalities logged today.

Meanwhile, a total of 97,379 people have recovered from the infection in Kathmandu, 15,777 in Lalitpur and 8,946 in Bhaktapur.

Kathmandu is the only district with over 500 active cases in the country. On the contrary, Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, Nawalparaasi West, Kalikot, Rukum West and Mugu are the six districts with zero live infections, as of today.
