2 fire incidents reported in Valley

KATHMANDU: Police said that two incidents of fire were reported in the Kathmandu Valley on Wednesday.

Property worth around Rs 2.15 million was reduced to rubble when a fire destroyed a house at Tika Bhairav in Bajrabarahi Municipality-17, Lalitpur on Wednesday.

Police said that the fire apparently broke at the tea shop owned by Champa Khatri and spread to the house.

The cause behind the fire was cooking gas leakage.

It has been learned that Rs 50,000 in cash and other valuable goods were destroyed in the flame.

Similarly, property worth around Rs 104,000 was destroyed when a fire broke out at the fruit shop of Buddhi Maya Kapali at Garjudhara in Chandragiri Municipality-8 on Thursday.

The fire was doused with the help of locals and a fire engine.

Police are looking into both cases.
