20 girls receive training

In order to empower girls with skill-oriented training, 20 girls from the marginalised section today received certificates on completion of 15-day training.

Twenty girls completed various skill-oriented training which would enable them to be independent financially and help them earn their livelihood. The training programme was organised by the Child Workers in Nepal Concerned Centre (CWIN).

Madhav Ghimire, general secretary of CWIN said that the skills should be used in practical life. Ghimire said that in order to empower women, built confidence and to enhance their decision-making power such programmes would definitely help them improve their living standards.

Sumnima Tuladhar, programme coordinator of CWIN said that all the skills that are learnt would eventually help to uplift the living standards which would lead to confidence-building.

CWIN had been organising such programmes in order to empower women and inform them about gender disparity, sexual exploitation, safe motherhood and human trafficking so that they are able to protect themselves. During the programme, the girls displayed their talent and the Shakti group performed a skit on the theme of girl-trafficking.
