KATHMANDU: The task forces of three major parties -- ruling CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist, and main opposition Nepali Congress-- and agitating United Democratic Madhesi Front are holding meeting at the Prime Minister's official residence this evening.

Prior to the meeting of task forces of the two sides, top leaders of the three major parties had held discussion addressing the UDMF's demands in order to resolve the ongoing agitation in Tarai-Madhes region.

Top leaders, including CPN-UML Chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala and UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal will meet tomorrow again, according to Narayan Kaji Shrestha of UCPN-Maoist, who had taken part in today's meeting.

Leaders have claimed that they were inching closer to resolve the crisis through amendment of Constitution and formation of a political mechanism to revise the demarcation of provincial boundaries.

They have been claiming that preparations are underway to sign a deal before the Parliament meeting called for tomorrow.
