KATHMANDU: Police on Saturday arrested three persons while they were illegally extracting sand from the Manahara River in Kathmandu.

Krishna Prajapati (31) from Lokanthali of Bhaktapur, Kuldhwaj Tamang (28) from Kavre and Sabin Moktan (22) from Makawanpur were loading the sand on a Mahindra Nissan minitruck (Ba 3 Kha 1145) while police busted them.

Police are looking into the case.
