KATHMANDU: Three persons were arrested while selling petroleum products at a higher rate than the market price, from different places of Kathmandu, on Tuesday.

Suresh Kumar KC (30), a permanent resident of Bhirpani-2 of Ramechhap, was arrested while selling diesel at Rs 165 per litre from a bus (Na 5 Kha 8957) parked in Pepsicola, KMC-35.

In another case, Sangita Lama (27) from Thori-5 of Parsa was arrested for selling petrol at Rs 250 per litre, from Namgel Chok, Nagarjun-2 of Kathmandu.

Bira Mukhiya (42) from Parsauni-3 of Bara was arrested with some quantity of petrol and diesel from Khusibu, KMC-16.

Police said the person was selling a litre of petrol at Rs 290 per litre.

Police are looking into all the cases.
