3 students hurt in clash with cops

Bhaktapur, August 20:

Three students were injured when the police charged upon students protesting the price hike in petroleum products at Thimi of Bhaktapur today. The three students — Roshan Kumar Paudel, Bimal Khatri and Shyam Basnet — from the Bhaktapur Campus were injured at about 11.30 when the police and the protesting students clashed at Thimi. The protest programme was organised by the Nepal Students Union affiliated to the Nepali Congress-Democratic. Also today, the eight student unions announced nationwide protest programmes against the price hike in petroleum products. The programmes include protesting in front of all the colleges in the nation on August 21 and a torch rally and burning effigy of price hike at different places in the valley on August 22.
