KATHMANDU: A bus carrying marriage attendants met with an accident at Kaji Shakharapur-5 in Lapsiphedi, Sankhu of Kathmandu on Thursday, leaving 33 injured.

According to Constable Indra Laxmi Rimal of the Metropolitan Police Circle, Sankhu, the incident occurred when the ill-fated bus (Na 4 Kha 9201) was heading towards Guheshwori from Bahunepati of Sindhupalchok fell some 150 metres down the road.

Among the injured, 13 are receiving treatment at the People's Life Care Hospital and 20 in the Sushma Koirala Memorail Hospital in Sankhu.

Rimal said that there were as many as 38 persons on board the bus.

She informed that the conditions of the injured are normal.

Most of the injured received injuries on their heads, hands and legs.

Rimal said that brake failure was the reason behind the accident.
