450 Biplab Maoists quit en masse

KATHMANDU: As many as 450 persons including the leaders and cadres of the Biplab-led CPN Maoist have quit en masse from the party on Sunday.

Organising a press meet in Bhaktapur today, the members declared their decision claiming that the party had changed track from its original path and ethics, becoming unjust, selfish and opportunist.

"The conflict in views created dissent among the party members. Hence, we decided to quit the party to save our political dignity," said Yubaraj Acharya of the party.

Acharya, along with Bhaktapur-chapter President of All Nepal Trade Union Federation (Revolutionary) Bikram Acharya, In charge of Area-4 of the CPN Maoist Joban Tamang among others quit the party.
