KATHMANDU: As many as eight persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in gambling from a local hotel in Nayabasti of Gokarneshwar Municipality-7, on the northern outskirts of Kathmandu, on Thursday.

According to police, Nima Tamang of Sindhupalchok district along with other seven persons were caught red-handed while gambling in the area.

Police also seized Rs 80,000 in cash, Indian banknote INRs 600 in cash and a deck of playing card.

Meanwhile, police said investigation is underway.
