83 petroleum product-filled vehicles escorted to Capital

KATHMANDU: A total of 83 vehicles carrying fuel were escorted to Kathmandu on Saturday night and Sunday morning amid an indefinite bandh called by the United Madhesi Front in the Tarai.

Police said that 11 petrol-filled trucks, 46 LPG cylinder gas-filled trucks, 12 diesel-filled trucks, two kerosene-filled trucks and 12 aviation fuel-filled trucks were escorted to Kathmandu under tight security.

Likewise, a total of 159 vehicles heading towards Eastern and Western districts, which were stranded midway due to the agitation, were sent to their respective destinations under tight security on Saturday night and Sunday morning, police said.
