Absconding burglary convict nabbed
KATHMANDU: A police team deployed from the Central Bureau of Investigation has nabbed an absconding burglary from Kiwa Chok of Bhaktapur on Wednesday.
The youth has been identified as Rupak Khati (23), a native of Gundu VDC-7 of Bhaktapur, currently residing at Kiwa Chok of Anantalingeshwor Municipality of Bhaktapur district.
The CIB sent the convict to the Jagannathdewal Central Jail for execution of the sentence.
Khati was convicted by the Kathmandu District Court for his alleged involvement in a burglary case in Kathmandu.
The Court had sent them to jail for 45 days and fined Rs 253,927.
However, he now has to do a 49-month time for running away after being convicted.
Masked, Khati along with other two youth had stolen a sweet shop run by Radhika Gupta in Gausala of Kathmandu Metropolitan City on April 15, 2008.
They had entered the shop by breaking the locks and decamped with property worth Rs 611,910 including cash,mobile set, ornaments and other valuable items.
