KATHMANDU: Police on Thursday arrested a youth from Bhaktapur in connection to the murder of National Investigation Department employee in Nepalgunj two weeks ago.

While investigating the murder of the Department's assistant informer deputed at Nepalgunj office, a team of police deployed from the Police Headquarters and Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) apprehended Bibek Pariyar, 18, of Nepalgunj-6, hiding in Tathali of Changunaryan Municipality-9, Bhaktapur.

The victim, Pravin Thapa Magar (27) -- a permanent resident of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City in Banke district -- was found motionless at a rice field in Nepalgunj-18, on Friday, January 15, 2021.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway to send the suspect to Banke District Police Office for necessary investigation, police informed.
