AC Sherpa announces candidacy for NRNA Regional Coordinator for Americas

KATHMANDU: AC Sherpa who has served as Deputy Regional Coordinator (Americas) for the NRN’s International Coordination Council has announced his candidacy for the NRNA Regional Coordinator (Americas) on Friday.

Issuing a statement in Kathmandu, Sherpa said that as NRNA Regional Coordinator for Americas  his goal would be to deepen the ties between the American people and Nepali communities residing in America. He further states that he would assist Nepali communities by working as a liaison with American government and relevant organisation.

The Government has appointed Sherpa as the Honorary Consul for Seattle in Washington state of the United States of America to take care if the interest of Nepalis residing in the State for the purpose of business, trade, tourism, education and travelling and any other reason and to add and assist them in all legal, consular and trade related matters

Born in Tapting VDC in Solukhumbu district, Sherpa had already climbed all the highest peaks in the seven continents including the Mt Everest. Sherpa has also been serving the needy communities in remote areas through the 7 Summit Foundation. The foundation is mainly active in health and education sectors.

He would do his utmost to promote Nepal’s tourism in the US as well as suggest and encourage the American companies to invest in Nepal, the statement reads. He claims that he would focus on the successful completion of NRNA Vision 2020 and Beyond as well as other current project with the support of Americas.

His statement further  states  that his goal will be to promote the creation of  regional sub-coordination council  in America where NRNA has already established 23 state chapters in the America, if not possible creating four different National Coordination Council (NCC) in America.

Sherpa in his statement says that Americas during his leadership will make effort to establish NCC in South and North America as well as US teritory and server the Nepali community with high standard of professionalism to make Americas the best NCC .

NRNA is going to elect a new 39-member executive committee, which is also called International Coordination Council, in Kathmandu on Monday. Incumbent Vice President Bhaban Bhatta and Jamuna Gurung have announced their candidacy for NRNA president (2017 to 2019).
