Adhikari leaves for New Delhi
Kathmandu, June 3:
Standing committee member of the CPN-UML, Bharat Mohan Adhikari, left today for New Delhi to join a UML team led by party general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal who is already in Shimla taking part in the South Asian Parliamentarians’ Conference.
UML standing committee member KP Sharma Oli is also in New Delhi.
Invited by the Indian government, the UML delegate is scheduled to meet Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee, foreign secretary Shiv Shankar Menon and other leftist leaders.
A UML leader told this daily that the delegate would confer with the Indian leaders mainly on the eight-party unity and the latest decision to hold constituent assembly election by mid-December, Indian cooperation in holding the constituent assembly and the ongoing Tarai unrest. They are scheduled to return on June 8.
