Aid for conflict-hit kids
Bhaktapur, August 19:
Two Japanese nationals, Kamada Misturu and Matsushita Thakuri, recently donated Rs 60,000 and educational materials to the Asahaya Utthan Kendra (AUK), Nepal, a non-governmental organisation working for the welfare of the conflict-hit children.
Minister for Labour and Transport Management Ramesh Lekhak handed over the educational materials and the cash to the AUK on behalf of the two Japanese nationals at a function organised on the premises of AUK at Bhaktapur, the AUK said in a press release.
The cash provided by the two would be enough for the NGO to manage food for the children for a year, the release said, adding that it is providing shelter to 15 children, who lost their parents due to the insurgency, the press release said. “We are giving food and shelter to them and sponsoring their education for three years.”
At the function, Kamada Misturu asked the minister to take initiative for sending Nepali youths to Japan for employment.
