Alliance headed for split
KATHMANDU: Unified CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led 30-party alliance is all set to split after the four major parties strike a deal on eight-state model of federalism with the state assemblies deciding their names and a commission to delineate their borders.
Hridayesh Tripathi, co-chairman of the Tarai Madhes Democratic Party, organised a press meet following the 30-party alliance’s meeting to claim that Monday’s agreement among the four parties was a blow to federalism. He said the CA members representing the parties in the 30-party alliance would boycott the CA.
